6 killed, 15 injured in road accident in western Algeria

Algiers [Algeria], August 16: Six people were killed and 15 others injured on Monday in a road accident in Western Algeria, said a statement of the Algerian civil protection authority.
The accident occurred when a bus collided with a trailer truck in the western province of Tindouf, claiming the lives of six people, in addition to 15 injuries, it said.
The injured passengers and the bodies of the victims were transferred to a medical center in the nearby village, while the causes of the accident were under investigation, it added.
According to the statistics of the Algerian National Center for Prevention and Road Safety, more than 90 percent of traffic accidents in Algeria were caused by human factors, in particular disobeying traffic law, while other factors include the poor state of roads and cars, and environmental reasons.
