Myanmar reports 68 new COVID-19 cases

Yangon [Myanmar], August 30:Myanmar confirmed 68 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 615,030, according to the Ministry of Health on Monday.
The health ministry said in a statement that these cases included eight infected people who returned from abroad.
It added that health authorities tested 7,918 people for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, and the daily positivity rate was 0.86 percent.
The death toll from COVID-19 in the country remained unchanged at 19,437, the ministry said.
The total number of patients who have recovered from COVID-19 in the country reached 593,495, including 20 new recoveries on Monday.
The Southeast Asian country detected its first COVID-19 cases in March 2020.
