US says ready to help China defeat Covid-19

Washington [US], December 21: Reuters news agency on December 21 reported that the US government expressed its willingness to help China deal with Covid-19 , and warned that the spread could affect the global economy.
"We stand ready to continue to support countries around the world , including China, in this regard, as well as other medical assistance related to Covid-19. For us, it's not about politics or geopolitics," State Department spokesman Ned Price said .
Asked if the US had ever supplied a vaccine to China, Mr. Price said: "I won't go into the discussion privately, but we have repeatedly made a public view that we are the financiers. World's largest Covid-19 vaccine donor".
Mr. Price reiterated Washington's position on wanting Beijing to defeat this outbreak, not just for China but for the world. "We also note that what happens in China has an impact on the global economy," he said.
Leading scientists and advisers of the World Health Organization ( WHO ) on December 20 said it was too early to declare the end of the emergency phase of the Covid-19 pandemic. Mr. Price also warned of the possibility of new variations from the infection situation in China.
