13 killed, 24 injured as bus falls into river in Cambodia

Phnom Penh [Cambodia], November 21: At least 13 people died and a further 24 were injured when a bus heading for the Cambodian capital of Pnom Penh hit a bridgehead, overturned and fell into a stream early on Thursday, media reports said, citing police.
The accident took place in the Suntuk district of the central Kampong Thom province. Traffic Police Chief Colonel Prum Chanthol said there were 37 passengers aboard, most of them male construction workers heading towards Phnom Penh. Chanthol said it appeared that the 19-year-old driver had fallen asleep at the wheel. The driver was among those injured. (DPA)
