21 alleged criminals arrested in Afghanistan

Kbul [Afghanistan], June 25: Afghan police have arrested 21 people on charge of involvement in criminal activities in six out of Afghanistan's 34 provinces on Saturday, a statement of the country's Ministry of Interior Affairs said Sunday.
The arrested people were involved in illegal activities such as murder, robbery, mobile snatching, forgery, theft, drug smuggling and creating law and order problems in the country, the statement said, adding that further investigations are underway.
In a similar crackdown, police arrested 80 alleged criminals in Kunduz, Balkh, Takhar, Herat, Samangan, Kabul and Kandahar provinces last week.
The Afghan caretaker government has vowed to crack down on criminal elements in Afghanistan to ensure law and order in the war-torn country.
