Abdullah bin Zayed discusses with Qatari Prime Minister, Egyptian Foreign Minister situation in Gaza, ceasefire efforts

Abu Dhabi [UAE], May 7: His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held phone calls with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, and Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to discuss developments in the Gaza Strip, and Qatari and Egyptian endeavours to reach a ceasefire and facilitate an exchange of captives and hostages, in light of risks of a military escalation in the southern part of the Strip.
His Highness commended the mediation efforts undertaken by the two brotherly countries, and stressed the UAE's support, expressing hope that it would result in a truce that leads to an end to the war, protecting the brotherly Palestinian people from further suffering and enhancing security, stability and peace in the region.
His Highness emphasised the importance of strengthening the humanitarian response to the needs of the people of Gaza, and ensuring the urgent delivery of relief and medical aid, in a safe and sustainable manner, without impediment.
