At least 30 killed as fire engulfs Bangkok pub

Bangkok [Thailand], July 14: Several people have been killed in a fire at a pub in Bangkok, according to local media reports.
The affected establishment was a pub in the Ladprao neighbourhood in the northern part of the Thai capital, the Bangkok Post reported, adding that there had been fatalities and injuries.
The flames have since been brought under control, according to the Post.
Thai public broadcaster Thai PBS World reported that at least 30 people were killed when a fire broke out in a packed beer house in the Ladprao area of Chatuchak district at around midnight, with further people injured.
Several people were brought to hospital early on Monday morning, according to the report.
The pub is reportedly located near the busy Chatuchak market, which attracts tens of thousands of people on weekends.
Among the victims, 17 women and eight men have been identified so far, Thai PBS World reported, citing rescue forces. Images published by the broadcaster showed the interior of the establishment completely charred.
Most of those killed were found trapped inside the pub's restrooms, according to the report.
