Belgian prime minister taken to hospital after bicycle fall

Brussels [Belgium], June 5: Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo was lucky to survive a serious fall on his bicycle, but fortunately he was wearing a helmet. His son, who was with him, called the emergency services, the 47-year-old said on Sunday in a video on Twitter.He said he was now back home after a night in hospital and wanted to thank the team there for the good care he received.
"Sport is healthy, but you also have to be a bit careful," he said at the end of the short video with a smile.
According to a report by the Belgian news agency Belga, De Croo had fallen on Saturday not far from his home in the municipality of Brakel and then briefly fell unconscious.
He was then taken to hospital for examinations as a precaution.According to his Cabinet, he will return to work as normal on Monday.
