Bolsonaro son nominated as Brazil's right-wing presidential candidate

Rio de Janeiro [Brazil], July 26: Brazilian right-wing politician Flavio Bolsonaro has been nominated as his party's presidential candidate and will face left-wing incumbent Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in October's election, his Liberal Party (PL) said.
Flavio Bolsonaro, 45, is the eldest son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, who was sentenced to more than 27 years in prison for an attempted coup.
At the PL party conference in the city of Sao Paulo, Senator Flavio Bolsonaro received the backing of Argentinian President Javier Milei, one of the most prominent figures of the political right in Latin America, who travelled to Brazil specially to attend the nomination. The Bolsonaro family also maintains close political ties with US President Donald Trump.
