China loses to Switzerland in final round-robin match in men's curling worlds

Washington DC (USA) Apr 10: China lost to Switzerland 9-4 in its last round-robin match at the ongoing world men's curling championship held in Canada's Calgary on Friday.
Switzerland opened the scoring with two points in the second end, before they had four points in the fifth end for a 7-2 lead and never looked back.
With the victory, Switzerland claimed the last playoff spot in the championship as well as a berth to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
A total of 14 teams are competing in the championship. The top six teams from the round robin stage will qualify directly for Beijing 2022 and vie for championship title in the playoff.
Sweden finished at the top of the standing with 11 wins and two defeats, followed by the Russian Curling Federation, the United States, Canada, Scotland and Switzerland.
China finished at bottom, but will enter the Winter Olympics as host.
