Congo Ebola death toll rises to 1,405: Officials

Nairobi [Kenya], July 28: The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has continued to spread, with 1,405 people having died from the virus since late April, according to figures released on Sunday by the country's health authorities.
Laboratory-confirmed infections have risen to 3,200, authorities said.
The current case fatality rate stands at 43.9%, meaning that nearly half of all confirmed infections have been fatal.
