Cyril Ramaphosa re-elected as president of South Africa's ruling party

Cape Town [South Africa], December 23: Cyril Ramaphosa, the president of South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) party, has been re-elected the leader of the party to a second five-year term.
He won the mandate for the second term during the 55th ANC national conference organized in Johannesburg from 16 to 20 December.
Ramaphosa, who also serves as the country's President, received 2,476 votes from fellow party members, while his rival, Zweli Mkhize, received 1,897 votes.
Some 4,500 delegates from across the country attended the ANC national conference, which is held every five years, as was reported by Xinhua News Agency, a partner of the TV BRICS network.
