Czech minister summons Russian envoy

Apr 17, 2026

Moscow [Russia], April 17: Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka summoned the Russian ambassador on Thursday after threats from Moscow against European arms manufacturers. Prague is demanding an explanation for the latest statements by the Russian Defence Ministry and former president Dmitry Medvedev, a spokesman said.
"The statements were directed at several Czech companies that were described as possible targets of Russian attacks," it said in Prague.
Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry published a list of companies with addresses that allegedly manufacture drone parts or drones for Ukraine. German companies are also named.
Those affected in the Czech Republic include a manufacturer of turbine engines for drones and unmanned aircraft as well as a producer of kamikaze drones.
Medvedev, who as deputy head of the National Security Council, still has considerable influence, described the firms listed as "potential targets for the Russian armed forces" on the platform X. How quickly such strikes would become reality depended on further developments, he threatened.
