EU summons Russian envoy over Romanian airspace incursion

Brussels [Belgium], July 29: The European Union has summoned Moscow's diplomatic envoy to Brussels in response to a Russian drone entering Romanian airspace last week.
"We conveyed our strong condemnation of the intentional violation of the airspace of Romania," said a spokesman for EU chief diplomat Kaja Kallas on Tuesday.
Romania shares a roughly 600-kilometre border with Ukraine, which has been warding off a Russian invasion for more than four years.
The "reckless act" is "a serious, serious escalation by Russia, and threatens the security of EU citizens, regional stability, and international peace," the spokesman said.
