Five people dead, one missing as Mexican Navy plane crashes off Texas

Mexico City [Mexico], December 24: Five people have died and one person is missing after a Mexican Navy plane carrying out a medical mission crashed off the US state of Texas on Monday, Mexican authorities said.
The King Air ANX 1209 aircraft crashed during its approach near Galveston on Monday afternoon, the Mexican Navy said in a statement. The Mexican Navy said that two of the eight people on board were alive after the crash, five people were confirmed dead and one person remained missing. Earlier, the navy had said that four people had been rescued alive. The navy also said that four of the eight people on board were crew members and the other four were civilians. US broadcaster CNN reported that one of the victims was a 2-year-old child.
