Fresh Russian attacks strike airbase in central Ukraine

Kiev [Ukraine], June 5: Two cruise missiles fired by Russian forces hit an airfield in central Ukraine, while four others were downed by Ukrainian air defences, air force spokesman YriyIgnat reported on Sunday.
"Out of six cruise missiles, four were destroyed by the air defences, and two unfortunately struck an airfield near Kropyvnytskyi," he said, without providing details of any damage caused.
Russian forces also launched five drones, three of which had been intercepted, Ignat said.
In the war that Moscow launched more than 15 months ago, Ukraine has seen repeated attacks over recent weeks from weapons fired from well beyond its borders, with Kiev the main target.
Russian forces occupying the Crimean Peninsula reported coming under attack by drones, all of which had been intercepted, they said.
Ukrainian Army Group South spokeswoman Natalia Humeniuk said: "Crimea should feel that it belongs to Ukraine.
