Over 1,000 spectators gathered at the Ben Thanh Theater for the "My Mother..." concert , the central event concluding season 6 of the "Mother is Love" art program organized by the Little Rose Charity Foundation. On stage, artists performed songs associated with the image of mothers. Cam Van and CeCe Truong performed "Mother's Folk Song" and "One Day I Forget Everything." Hong Nhung performed " Mother's Lullaby," "Mother Loves Me," and "Thank You ." Hien Thuc sang "Mother's Diary," Ho Van Cuong and Duy Manh sang " I Will Not Forget ," and Hoang Bach presented " I Want to Go Home ."
Cam and Tao, along with other artists, harmonized in the song " My Mother Never Told Me ," creating diverse perspectives as they looked back on their mothers from childhood memories and family life to their journey to adulthood.
Ho Van Cuong remembers the days when his mother sold scrap metal.
Sharing his thoughts before the performance, Ho Van Cuong said that "sacrifice" is the first word that comes to mind when he thinks about his mother. The singer recounted that during his childhood years in his hometown, his family faced many difficulties. To provide for his education and take care of the family, his mother did many different jobs, from selling lottery tickets and collecting scrap metal to other light and heavy work.
"Before, I didn't really understand how much my mother sacrificed. But now, for me to be where I am today-to get an education, have a stable life , and pursue my passions-my mother has sacrificed a lot of her time, health, and personal desires," Ho Van Cuong shared.
While Ho Van Cuong viewed his mother through the lens of "sacrifice," Duy Manh chose "forgiveness" when asked about her. Recalling his childhood as the youngest of four brothers, Duy Manh admitted to being very mischievous. He recounted instances of secretly taking money from his mother and pranks that led to her discovering them, yet she still protected him from his father's strictness.
