Iran executes two more men over deadly protest violence in Isfahan

Jul 29, 2026

Tehran [Iran], July 29: Two men have been executed in Iran in connection with protests earlier this year, having been accused of involvement in the killing of police officers during mass protests in the city of Isfahan, the Mizan news agency reported on Tuesday.
Iran's judiciary has now executed at least 27 men in connection with the protests and unrest as part of an ongoing wave of executions.
Demonstrations broke out in late December amid the country's economic crisis and rapidly grew into mass protests against the authoritarian leadership. The state suppressed them violently, and thousands of protesters were killed. (DPA)
