Iran-US nuclear talks postponed until Saturday

Apr 23, 2025

Tehran [Iran], April 23: Expert-level Iran-US nuclear talks that were supposed to take place on Wednesday will be moved to Saturday, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has said.
Baghaei said the indirect talks were rescheduled following a proposal from mediators Oman and an agreement between the Iranian and US delegations.
Earlier, Iran and the United States said they held "constructive" discussions over the Iranian nuclear programme.
The second round of Oman-mediated talks in Rome took place on Saturday, a week after the first session in Muscat, the Omani capital.
"Technical discussions" were expected to begin on Wednesday in Oman, after which more high-level meetings will be held to move closer to an agreement.
Officials are optimistic about the progress on talks that started with US President Donald Trump threatening Tehran with attacks if it did not negotiate. Iran agreed to indirect talks after Omani mediation
