Mass shooting on crowded Sydney street, 20 people injured

Sydney [Australia], October 6: Australian police have arrested a suspect who opened fire indiscriminately on a crowded street in Sydney, injuring 20 people, according to AFP today, October 6.
On the evening of October 5 (local time), Sydney police received a call reporting an incident on the city's Inner West Road, where a suspect was randomly shooting at passing vehicles.
An office worker named Joe Azar said he was working across the street when he heard explosions that sounded like someone was setting off fireworks or someone was throwing rocks at the windows.
"Some car windshields were blown out and then the glass at the bus stop was shattered," Mr Azar told The Sydney Morning Herald .
"It was chaos. Everything happened so fast that I didn't have time to understand what was going on," said Mr. Azar.
Police said between 50 and 100 bullets were fired at the scene.
Police quickly cordoned off the scene. They then raided an apartment above a shop and arrested a 60-year-old man. Police also seized two rifles from the apartment.
During the arrest, the suspect was injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
As of this morning (Vietnam time), the suspect has not been prosecuted, and the police have ruled out terrorism or gang activity in the incident.
Police say a man presented himself to hospital with a gunshot wound and is in a "critical" condition after being shot in the street.
In addition, 19 others were injured by shrapnel or broken glass.
