MoCI conducts field inspections to ensure food and water factories continue operating at full capacity

Mar 03, 2026

Doha [Qatar], March 3: Specialised inspection teams from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) conducted a series of field visits to a number of food production factories and drinking water production plants as part of ongoing efforts to monitor market readiness, ensure production continuity, and safeguard supply chain efficiency.
These inspections aimed to verify that production processes are operating smoothly and that facilities are maintaining full operational capacity to meet the continuous needs of the local market.
During the inspections, the teams reviewed the operational readiness of production lines, evaluated quality and safety procedures, and assessed workforce preparedness. Particular attention was given to the stability of manufacturing processes, compliance with approved standards, and the availability of raw materials and logistical support required to sustain uninterrupted production.
The teams also examined storage facilities and inventory management systems to ensure that products are handled and distributed efficiently.
The ministry confirmed that the inspected factories are currently operating at high production capacity. Reports indicated the availability of sufficient strategic stock levels across essential food and bottled water products, ensuring the smooth and continuous supply of goods to retail outlets. This strategic stock plays a key role in maintaining market stability, especially during periods of increased demand or logistical pressure.
Field follow-ups further demonstrated that transportation and distribution operations to various retail outlets are proceeding regularly and without disruption. Supply chains were found to be operating normally and consistently, reflecting a high level of coordination between manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. These findings highlight the sector's preparedness and its ability to respond effectively to market demand while maintaining reliable delivery schedules.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to continuing inspection campaigns and strengthening direct coordination with factories, suppliers, and distribution partners. These efforts are intended to enhance market stability, prevent supply disruptions, and reinforce consumer confidence.
The Ministry also emphasised that all essential goods and food products are available in sufficient quantities in the market, ensuring uninterrupted access for consumers and supporting overall economic and food security.
