Morocco to host 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations

Jan 16, 2021

Yaounde (Cameroon), January 16: Morocco has been designated the host of the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) said in a statement Friday evening following an executive committee meeting held in Cameroon's capital city of Yaounde.
Morocco replaces Congo, who withdrew prematurely as host in 2019 because of the government's reluctance to stage the continent's biggest women football championship.
The event was later cancelled due to the threat of COIVD-19 pandemic. CAF had increased the number of participating teams from 8 to 12 prior to the cancellation.
