Mr. Trump said he would visit China in April

Washington [US], January 24: US President Donald Trump announced on January 22nd that he will visit China in April and that Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit the US later this year, according to Reuters.
"I look forward to meeting President Xi. I've always had a great relationship with President Xi of China," President Trump said aboard Air Force One.
Mr. Trump said that relations between the US and China had become strained during the Covid-19 pandemic , but have improved significantly since then. He asserted that China is buying a large quantity of American soybeans.
As of the afternoon of January 23rd, there had been no reaction from China to President Trump 's announcement . Trump is scheduled to meet Xi Jinping in South Korea in October 2025. This will be the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders during Trump's second term.
