Navigational error caused tanker collision, says UAE

Dubai [UAE], June 19: A collision between two ships in the Gulf of Oman off the Emirati coast, was due to a "navigational misjudgement," the United Arab Emirates said on Wednesday.
The collision between the Adalynn oil tanker and the Front Eagle cargo vessel took place early on Tuesday, the UAE's ministry of energy and infrastructure said, according to state news agency WAM.
The incident caused minor damage to both ships, a small oil spill, and a fire that broke out in the fuel tank of one of the ships.
Greenpeace has warned of possible consequences for the environment.
No injuries were reported, the ministry said, adding that a technical investigation is underway. On Tuesday, the UAE said its national guard evacuated 24 crew members from the Adalynn.
