Mar 08, 2026

Washington [US], March 8: US President Donald Trump claims he is personally involved in negotiations with Cuba.
"They want to negotiate and they are negotiating with [Secretary of State] Marco [Rubio] and myself and some others and I would think a deal will be made very soon with Cuba," Trump said at a summit on Saturday with conservative leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean in the city of Doral in Florida. Rubio also attended the meeting.
Trump expressed optimism that an agreement with the communist Caribbean state could be reached soon. (DPA)
