Jun 22, 2024

Jeddah [UAE], June 22: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has welcomed Armenia's recognition of the statehood of Palestine, stressing that the step aligns with international law and relevant UN conventions.
In a statement, the OIC said this decision will help back international efforts and positions to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, and support the legitimate rights of Palestinian people, including the right to establish an independent Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967.
The organisation renewed its call on all world nations to join in recognising Palestine's statehood and support its right to become a full member of the UN, in line with global efforts to achieve peace and maintain stability in the region, through the two-state solution.
