Pakistani police seize 6 kg heroin in Peshawar

Islamabad [Pakistan], September 29: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) of Pakistan foiled an attempt to smuggle 6 kg of heroin at the Bacha Khan International Airport in the country's northwestern Peshawar city and arrested one person, officials said on Wednesday.
Police officers seized the drugs from a passenger at the airport during a routine inspection, an ANF spokesperson told local media, adding that the narcotics were hidden in a trolley bag of the passenger.
The authorities said the arrested man was trying to board an international flight for Malaysia and confessed to smuggling narcotics to foreign countries.
The drug smuggler has been shifted to an undisclosed place for further investigation. A case has also been registered against him.
On Tuesday, ANF officials recovered more than 60 kg of narcotics in operations in several cities of the country and arrested two suspects.
