Prosecuted for threatening to kill the attorney general in a case involving Mr. Trump

May 04, 2024

Washington [USA], May 4: The Guardian newspaper reported on May 4 that a man in California (USA) was just indicted for threatening to kill Ms. Fani Willis , the Fulton County District Attorney who oversaw the prosecution in Georgia of former President Donald Trump on charges of plot to overturn the election results.
Commenting below two live streams on YouTube, Mr. Marc Shultz (66 years old) wrote that Ms. Willis "will be killed like a dog". Prosecutors said the subject was charged with threatening Ms. Willis because of the prosecution of former President Trump.
The exact details surrounding Mr. Shultz's threat are unclear, but the content of the comment is similar to a previous statement by Mr. Trump when describing the killing. "He died like a dog," Mr. Trump previously said at the White House when describing the death of former leader of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) organization Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi after a special operation by America in Syria in 2019.
Threats against Ms. Willis increased significantly after the Fulton County district attorney's office last year charged Mr. Trump and 18 co-conspirators with conspiring to overturn his loss in the 2020 election.
No trial date has been set for the case in Fulton. Mr. Trump and his accomplices requested that Ms. Willis be removed from the case because of her love relationship with deputy Nathan Wade. However, this request was denied, and Mr. Wade withdrew from the case.
Around the time Mr. Shultz targeted Ms. Willis, Mr. Trump had been complaining for weeks that Willis, the first woman of African descent to serve as Fulton County district attorney, was racist.
