Dec 13, 2025

Moscow [Russia], December 13: Russia will update its communications sector development strategy through 2035 to reflect changes in domestic and external economic conditions, the government said Friday.
According to a government news release, the update will focus on expanding domestic computing capacity and supporting the electronics industry, such as proposals to stimulate the procurement of domestically produced electronic products and software-hardware systems.
Authorities will define requirements for cloud infrastructure used for critical information systems to ensure data security and stable information technology operations, it added.
Russia also plans to promote exports of domestic goods through digital platforms and simplify customs procedures, including through pilot projects to allow import documentation to be submitted digitally to customs authorities, said the release.
