Russian drones cause damage near Kiev

Feb 18, 2025

Moscow [Russia], February 18: Russia attacked Ukraine again with a large swarm of drones overnight in the Kiev region, after which Ukraine launched a counter-attack, the two sides said on Monday.
Ukraine's air defence shot down several Russian drones, the area's military governor, Mykola Kalashnyk, said.
Four locations around Kiev were damaged, he said. There was a fire in an industrial plant, and a warehouse and several private houses were damaged. One man was reportedly injured.
There was also damage to buildings in the city of Kharkiv in the east of the country and in Sumy in the north-east, according to regional reports.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russian army used 147 Iranian-made combat drones and drone decoys without explosives. The military said 83 drones were intercepted, while the location of 59 decoys was lost, but did not cause any damage. (DPA)
