Russian Foreign Minister invites his Chinese counterpart to visit Russia

Moscow [Russia], January 11: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a telephone conversation with his colleague from China Qin Gang, recently elected to the post of head of the country's Foreign Ministry.
Lavrov congratulated Qin Gang on his appointment and wished him success in his responsible post.
The foreign ministers of the two countries noted the high rates of development of political dialogue between the PRC and Russia and practical cooperation. During the conversation, the foreign ministers discussed the significance of the talks between the leaders of the two countries held on 30 December 2022 in the format of a video conference call.
According to Lavrov and Qin Gang, regular interaction between Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will ensure further progressive development of the entire complex of Russian-Chinese relations. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The foreign ministers of China and Russia also discussed a number of actual issues on the bilateral, global and regional agenda. The sides positively assessed the constructive dialogue and high level of bilateral coordination in the international arena - in the UN, BRICS, SCO, within the G20, on the platforms of interaction with ASEAN and in other formats.
It should be noted that Sergei Lavrov has invited the Chinese Foreign Minister to visit Russia at any time convenient for him.
Qin Gang, China's former ambassador to the United States, was appointed China's new Foreign Minister on 30 December 2022. Wang Yi, who had held the post since 2013, has resigned.
