Mar 30, 2026

Cairo [Egypt], March 30: Syrian government forces on Sunday reported thwarting an attack by four drones launched from Iraq on a US military base in Syria.
"We see Iraq as responsible and call on them to stop a repeat of these attacks, which threaten our stability," said Sipan Hemo, deputy Syrian defence minister.
No one has as yet claimed responsibility for the attack, and the base was not named.
Since the Iran war began on February 28, the US has launched attacks on pro-Iranian militias in Iraq, and there have been attacks on US military and diplomatic personnel stationed in Iraq as well.
