Ukraine tests long-range combat drones capable of reaching Siberia

Mar 19, 2025

Kiev [Ukraine], March 19: Ukraine has successfully tested a combat drone with a range of 3,000 kilometres, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Monday evening.
"We are advancing a line of long-range capabilities that will help guarantee the security of our state," Zelensky said in a video address, expressing gratitude to the engineers and manufacturers behind the project.
With this range, Ukrainian drones could potentially strike targets deep into Siberia. During a meeting with military leaders, Zelensky also received updates on the use of the advanced Neptune anti-ship missile, stating that "we are satisfied with the strike results." In April 2022, Ukraine sank the Russian cruiser Moskva with its self-developed R360 Neptune missile. Since then, the weapon has been further developed and its range has been extended.
The Ukrainian president also noted the urgent need for increased production. "We need to produce more missiles, more drones, and this week, we will discuss this with our partners," he said. (DPA)
