Ukraine wants US and Europe to join peace talks

Kiev [Ukraine], February 6: According to The Guardian on February 5, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he was ready to engage in direct negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin "if that is the only way we can bring peace to the Ukrainian people."
However, Mr Zelensky stressed that the US and Europe must be involved in any relevant negotiations.
Previously, on February 3, Mr. Zelensky expressed concern that Kyiv could be sidelined in the negotiation process between the US and Russia on the conflict in Ukraine.
On the Russian side, after months of gaining an advantage in eastern Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recently affirmed that it was still too early to consider negotiations , while repeating his stance of not recognizing Mr. Zelensky's legitimacy.
