UN chief Guterres and Chilean president Boric visit Antarctica

Santiago [Chile],November 24: UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Chilean President Gabriel Boric on Thursday visited Antarctica to get a first-hand impression of the dangers of global warming.
"The close cooperation between Chile and the UN is helping to strengthen key areas of our work on the climate crisis, sustainable development, peace and security," the Secretary General wrote on X, formerly Twitter. Chile's presidential office announced that Chile seeks to position itself as a leader in scientific research in Antarctica. (QNA)
