US fighter jet crashes into Yellow Sea; pilot ejects and survives

Seoul [South Korea], February 1: A second F-16 fighter jet of the US armed forces has crashed in South Korea during a flight over the Yellow Sea in less than two months.
A statement from the 8th Fighter Wing at the US military base in Kunsan on Wednesday said an emergency had occurred during the flight, and the pilot was able to eject before the aircraft crashed at around 8.41am.The pilot was pulled out of the water near Kunsan off the west coast about 50 minutes later and was conscious when he was picked up, according to the statement.
On December 11, an F-16 fighter jet from the same squadron had crashed over the sea between the Korean peninsula and China during a training flight. The pilot also survived on that occasion. The US has 28,500 soldiers stationed in South Korea.
