US Senate approves major policy bill authorising $900 billion for Pentagon

Washington [US], December 18: The US Senate on Wednesday approved a sweeping policy measure authorising the Department of Defence to spend $900.6 billion in fiscal year 2026.
The 2026 National Defence Authorisation Act, which was passed by the House of Representatives on 10 December, will now be sent to President Donald Trump, who has pledged to sign the legislation. The bill was approved by the Senate with a decisive 77-20 vote.
