Wife burned half a billion dong of her husband's bond to ashes

Dec 31, 2022

Rome [Italy], December 31: In an interview with Il Messaggero newspaper, the husband, who did not want to be named, said that he had hidden the bonds in the chimney of his apartment in the Monteverde district of Rome since the summer of this year.
In winter, he should have moved the hiding place, before his wife lit the fireplace for Christmas.
"When I saw the fire in the fireplace, I almost fainted," he said.
The husband said that the wife had no idea where her husband hid the bonds.
However, he still holds the hope of being able to salvage some. The husband contacted his brother who works at the post office to ask how to solve this case.
The younger brother said that if he still kept the serial numbers of each bond, he could ask the authorities to reissue the above bonds.
