Zelensky hopes for solution for Ukraine after Gaza ceasefire

Oct 14, 2025

Gaza City [Gaza], October 14: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is hoping for peace for his country following the breakthrough in the Gaza war.
"Russian aggression remains the last global source of destabilization," Zelensky wrote on social media on Monday, "and if a ceasefire and peace have been achieved for the Middle East, the leadership and determination of global actors can certainly work for us too, in Ukraine." Zelensky explicitly addressed US President Donald Trump, whose mediation between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist Hamas movement made peace in the Middle East possible.
Meanwhile, Russia has warned the US against delivering Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine. "In fact, handling such heavy cruise missiles requires the involvement of US specialists in one way or another," the Russian state news agency TASS cited Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying.
His remarks were followed by a statement from the deputy head of the National Security Council and former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, who warned US President Donald Trump against such a move. Medvedev wrote on Telegram that "the delivery of these cruise missiles could end badly for everyone. And especially for Trump himself."
