North Korean leader Kim Jong-un arrives in China

Pyongyang [North Korea], September 2: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un arrived in China on a special train early on September 2 to attend the world's victory day celebration.
The Rodong Sinmun , the mouthpiece of the Workers' Party of Korea , reported that Kim Jong-un left Pyongyang on September 1 and arrived in China early on the morning of September 2. Kim is expected to arrive in Beijing the same morning.
The leader left Pyongyang by train to attend a military parade in China marking the 80th anniversary of the world people's victory over fascism on September 3.
Before leaving, on September 1, Mr. Kim visited a rocket laboratory that is researching carbon fiber composite materials for use in intercontinental ballistic missile engines, according to Reuters.
The Rodong Sinmun newspaper carried pictures of Kim Jong-un and his entourage, including Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui, smiling from inside the special dark green train. According to Reuters, the train looked similar to the bulletproof train he used on previous trips to China and Russia.
Meanwhile, on September 1, North Korea expressed support for Chinese President Xi Jinping 's remarks at a summit calling for fairer global governance, adding that cooperation between North Korea and China would develop in pursuit of that value, according to a commentary posted on the North's Foreign Ministry website.On September 1, at a summit attended by the leaders of Russia and India, Xi Jinping emphasized his vision of a new global security and economic order that prioritizes developing countries in the "Global South" group.
